The system has the option of including or reading samples or wav files via MAX/MSP methods and objects. The idea is to play audio files related to the topic of the data being sonified, so that they work as a base sound on which the Spatialization and modification is performed. So for instance, if the data being sonified is one of bacteria population growth, the wav file could resemble some sound like an organic object, such as bacteria.

Some modification can be done to the wav files that are read: the gain can be changed manually or mapped to some external data file as well; the playback speed is also modifiable, making it possible to play with the figures of the sound to create a congruent sound aligned with the data displayed.  More about the interface used for this is described on a further section.
